Long before the Internet, there was another "network of networks". Since the time before humankind emerged, it has connected every continent with multi-branched pathways. Information flows on it's natural conduits....in raging torrents and also in stagnant trickles. Without modems, fiber-optic cables, or access providers, the earth speaks to itself, sending messages about the position of the sun and moon, the passage of seasons, the birth and death of glaciers. No electricity is required, just another basic medium, water, that forms the rivers, bays and oceans of the original network of networks: the WetNet.
